One of the coolest things about looking at a tour pros is seeing all the cool customization. The pros usually come up with some funny stuff. Anyone can stamp their own clubs but the way the guys on tour have it look is next level. Taylormade has joined some other OEMs in allowing you to get some of this cool stamping on their Milled Grind wedges.

The first thing to talk about is the wedge itself. This is the standard Milled Grind wedge Taylormade has been offering for a few. I personally like the wedge. I think it looks really cool. From all accounts the performance is top notch, just like you would expect from a Taylormade product. The wedge is also milled from Carbon steel so the softness will be there if that is the feel you seek out!

The new program allows golfers to choose from 7 different loft and bounce options (check out my wedge fitting story here). Taylormade is offering a 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58 and 60 degree option. I really like this because it is getting harder and harder to find a 54 and a 58 degree wedge. Lefties are again getting the short end of the stick though. Their loft options are limited to the 52, 56, 60.
Lets talk finish options. The custom clubs will offer 4 finishes, Chrome, Black, Raw(!!!), and Nickel. Chrome will give you that “classic” golf club look. The black finish is darker than the MG1 finish and will provide a non glare finish. The raw finish will eventually rust and look a little more worn. Its my favorite and the option preferred by a lot of the guys on tour. The final option is the Cobalt Nickel. It has an almost gold hue to it. This finish is only provided in the custom option so if you like this finish you should jump on this opportunity.

Here is where it gets fun. Taylormade is offering 6 different stamping options. None,Curved Text, Straight Text, 3 initials, Dancing Initials, and logos. Once you decide how you want it stamped its time to choose your color. Taylormade give 13 options in terms of color. They are most basic colors. Red, Yellow, Purple, Silver, etc. Taylormade is also offering up the opportunity to change the color on the MG Logo, Taylormade Logo, Loft and bounce as well as the rings on the hosel of the club.

For this you will pay an upcharge. The regular MG2 club costs 169.99 while a custom MG2 is 225. A 60 dollar upcharge isnt cheap but it could be worth it. For more information or to order click here
