One of the biggest improvements in golf accessories over the last few years has been the ability to track your shots and thereby your stats with an app and a simple attachement to your clubs. It allows you to really know where you are playing well and what parts of your game are struggling. The current leader in this market in my opinion is Arccos (review pending).

Starting with the V2 Shot Scope really made collecting data super easy. One of the biggest issues people have with the Arccos is the need to carry your phone in your pocket. The Shot Scope was a normal GPS watch that had the benefit of being a stat collector as well. Everything I read on them showed the data was accurate.
The biggest problem that faced the Shot Scope was the size of the watch. Me personally, I am not a big fan of a big watch when I am playing golf. It feels clunky and affects my swing. Well Shot Scope listened to this feed back and really adjusted the size of the watch. They were able to remove the USB port off the watch and make charging on a strap. They have managed to pack a lot of technology underneath the hood of a watch the size of an Apple Watch. Other upgrades include an all color screen. Between the size, screen, and stat tracking it has made a very premium feeling jump.

If the size of the Shot Scope has been an issue for you I would give the Shot Scope V3 a look. The stat tracking alone is a game changer but to get a GPS watch included is another bonus. The Shotscope is for sale at PGA Tour Super Store, Dicks Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy and online at shotscope.com.
