PGA Show 2023 Preview

The Green Fee is headed to the PGA Show! I can not wait to attend my 2nd show in person and my 3rd overall (Thanks CoVID). The normal players are out there this year but one of my favorite parts of the show are the unique product as well as find some really cool alternatives to the big brands! Lets gop though what to expect from me next week during the show

Social Media

We are going to be all over social media.

This week you are going to see all types of videos. Ill show you what its like walking the floor as well as interviews with the people who are trying to make the golf industry better and more fun for you. Its a good community were building over there and Id love for you to follow me all week

TikTok (thegreenfee)– I have been on Tik Tok for a while just watching funny videos like this one:

@meohmymia Was someone looking for Ganon?! 🤨 #corgi #puppy #foryou #lookingforme #cute #adorble #corgipuppy ♬ Here I Go – Kash Doll
Since then I have been hooked. I have started posting recently. I tend to do my best work over there. Were going to be doing 1 minute long videos to have vendors give the quick elevator pitch

Instagram (@thegreenfee)– Another spot where in addition to Reels you are going to see some really great pictures. The show can be a really cool place to take pictures. The displays are always awesome and you can really see some awesome shit.

Youtube (The Green Fee)– Youtube is the platform that allows me to do some long form stuff where I can go really deep into subjects. My plan is to do a kind of travel journal. Its something new Im going to experiment with. After the show I also plan on stictching together all of my reels and Tik Toks to make a really cool video as well.

Twitter (@thegreenfee1)– You can expect a mixture of everything. Itll be really fun. Id love to get your feedback on Twitter. Send me questions you want answered or subjects you want to see me cover. Are you interested in new golf shoes? Are you into weird putter designs etc. Follow the hashtag #tgfPGA all week for awesome content

What are we seeing

Demo Day- This is when I will have the opportunity to show you all the cool equipment. From the major OEMs like Taylormade and Callaway to small manufacturers who you probably have never heard of. At my first PGA Show there was a 2 hr wait for Taylormade and Callaway. While I waited for my turn I started walking and just seeing random booths. Thats when I found a new start up brand called New Level. Ended up being my favorite stuff at that show. Since then the brand has grown and is one of the top DTC brands including sponsorships with PGA Tour players. At Demo Day, you can find the cool shit.

Expo Floor- On Wednesday and Thursday the fun begins at the actual Expo side. This is where OEMs will have their huge booths with all the kick ass dispalys. One thing I find is that on the expo days is that the clothing brands are out in full force. Those days you will see all of the clothing brands displaying the new years lineup. Some other media companies make fun of the weird and quirky at the show. Some stuff that they think wont work at all.

The story I love to see is the one like the G Trak. A couple had a problem of setting up a net to practice softball in the garage. Dad rigged soemthing up that worked to roll the net up and still park the car in the garage in a tiny amount of time. I had a meeting with them and they told me they sold the idea to a simulator company. Just a great story

Final Thoughts

Its going to be a great week. I hope to provide you some of the coolest content from the show. Were going to talk to as many people as we can over the three days! Let me know what areas you are interested in and we can see about getting some coverage with those companies.
